Florida Renaissance Festival School Days Take Students to 16th Century Europe (DEERFIELD BEACH, FL) -- Hundreds of South Florida students will be embarking on a journey back to the days when knights battled for the heart of a lady, and kings and queens ruled the countryside during two special school days at the 13th Annual Florida Renaissance Festival. Scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 9 and Thursday, Feb. 10 from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Quiet Waters Park in Deerfield Beach, School Days at the Florida Renaissance Festival will offer an educational, informative and enjoyable opportunity for students to learn about life in the 16th Century. Students will be surrounded by hundreds of costumed performers, crafters and a variety of entertainers as they participate in several educational adventures during demonstrations portraying life in medieval Europe. Among the activities designed specifically to make learning fun are costume, limerick and madrigal contests and a Renaissance Quest. During the Renaissance Quest, students will have the chance to answer questions on a short questionnaire by seeking out answers from villagers and the Royal Court. Admission for School Days at the Florida Renaissance Festival is $6 per student, with one free adult chaperone for every 10 students. Additional adults are $7 each. Admission is open to schools only and accredited home-schooled children. Pre-registration is required.
