THE FLORIDA RENAISSANCE FESTIVAL, A
BOBBY RODRIGUEZ PRODUCTION,
HOLDS AUDITIONS WITH ALL-NEW
CREATIVE TEAM
Come February, if you hear the sounds of trumpets blaring
and swelling masses shouting "HUZZAH!" you'll know that Deerfield
Beach has once again been inhabited by the hundreds of talented folks who
populate the "Florida Renaissance Festival,” celebrating its 13th season.
But this year, amidst such sights as armored knights and tiny children
brandishing enormous, turkey legs, you may notice something different...new
musical and variety acts, more interactive and colorful street characters, and
an all new and more comprehensive storyline for the day.
Of course, these things don't happen by
accident. “I have assembled a four-person entertainment team to help me steer
the course of this award-winning event,” said Producer Rodriguez. “I have never
been more excited about the show’s entertainment!” Comprised of experienced
directors, writers, teachers and respected and accomplished entertainers in their
own right, the quartet of Mary Ann Jung, Paul Stickney, Jeanette Walmsely, and
Richard Weber bring over 100 years combined experience to the Festival. If
these names sound familiar to the regular faire goer, it’s probably because
these same performers have performed some of your favorite Festival characters
over the years. Co-director and writer Paul Stickney says "The four
members of the new team, although we all work multiple Festivals throughout the
country, have a great love of this particular Festival, and look forward to the
challenge of not only bringing our own ideas to the project, but carrying on
the tradition of the Festival that the South Florida community has grown to
love over the years."
Naturally, the first step in any
theatrical venture is to assemble the best possible cast, and with all the
exciting opportunities for professional and apprentice performers available at
the festival, this years auditions promise to be an exciting event in itself.
Performers, ages 16 and up, of all skill levels, experiences,
ethnicities, and body types are welcome. Anyone interested in auditioning for
the Florida Renaissance Festival is encouraged to call the audition hotline at
954-776-1642, to schedule an appointment. For audition dates and times

The Florida Renaissance Festival will
open to the public February 12th, 2005 and run weekends through
March 13th, 2005, including Monday, February 21st,
President’s Day. We also have two days set aside exclusively for local area
school children to experience the 16th century interactively,
February 9th and 10th.
