13th Annual Renaissance Festival Continues With International Weekend Theme

 

President’s Day Special: Seniors 65 and Older and Children Under 12 Admitted Free Before Noon on Monday, February 21

 

Special Appearance by Fushu Daiko One of very few drumming groups of its kind and the only one in South Florida.  Diversity and multi-cultural players from several different countries blend in a perfect rhythm.  See Fushu Daiko at various times throughout the day February 19 – 21.

 

WHAT: Second weekend of the 13th Annual Florida Renaissance Festival:

Including 16th century activities such as: 

 

*           Knights in full armor JOUSTING and SWORD FIGHTING

 

*           BIRDS of PREY - in full flight by a Master Falconer

 

*           TWELVE STAGES - with continuous entertainment  

 

*           Hundreds of costumed PROFESSIONAL PERFORMERS – including King Henry the VIII and his first wife Queen Katharine of Aragon.

 

*           Over 120 ARTISANS - demonstrating, exhibiting and selling their wares including fairies, swords,  authentic Renaissance attire including hats, crowns, fairy wings and more…

 

*           Delicacies of the Middle Ages to tempt the palate - FOOD FIT FOR A KING, turkey legs, yards of ale, pretzels, pickles and kabobs.

               

*           MEDIEVAL GAMES – including cross bows, darts, catapults, “bump a monk”, life size chess set, Jacobs Ladder archery, a maze, spooky grave yard and more….

               

*           KID’S KINGDOM - educational demonstrations, competitions and exhibits and the World’s

Largest Rocking Horse.

 

WHEN: February 19, 20, 21, 26, 27 & March 5, 6, 12, 13, from 10 am to sunset; including Monday President’s Day Feb. 21st.

 

WHERE: Quiet Waters Park in the City of Deerfield Beach. Hillsboro Blvd. and Powerline Rd.

 

PRICES: Adults - $17.50; Children (5-12) - $6.00  Under 5 – FREE.

King Henry’s Feast – gourmet 5 course meal with King Henry the VIII and Queen Katherine of Aragon - $63, includes unlimited food, beer, wine, mead and entertainment. Served daily at noon.
