Live Every Man's Dream… Become a Knight at the Florida Renaissance Festival


DEERFIELD BEACH, FL -- (January, 2006) Live every man and boys dream to attain Knighthood. Now is your chance at the 14th Annual Florida Renaissance Festival; running February 11 through March 19, at Quiet Waters Park in Deerfield Beach. The Mega Knighthood Challenge runs daily all thirteen days of the festival. This new element of the festival is completely interactive! You get to compete with other guests for a chance to be Knight for a day! (Yes, ladies can enter as well.)

This competition will take you through tests of strength, skill, and wit. You will be scored at each of the following games: Archery, Axe Throw, Test O'Strength, Fencing Ring, Rope Game, Mug Toss and Chess.

Each day, at 5:30 p.m., all scores will be posted, certificates of completion will be presented and the day's winner will be knighted. Daily prizes include 2 tickets to return to the Florida Renaissance Festival March 19 for the Grand Prize Challenge, 2 souvenir T-Shirts and 2 weekend passes to the Florida Cajun-Zydeco Festival, May 19-21, 2006 at Quiet Waters Park.

Grand Prize winner of the final Knight's Challenge will receive 2 season passes to the 2007 Florida Renaissance Festival, and a gift package from sponsor Mega 94.9, totaling over $500 in value. In addition, at day's end, his majesty King Henry VIII will bestow upon the Grand Prize winner the highest honor at the festival…the title "Mega Knight."

Entry fee for the Knighthood Challenge is only $10; participants may enter daily at the information kiosk located just inside the festival gate.
